About Me

Where to start... My name is Andrew Burton and I'm from Baltimore, MD. I consider myself an interesting guy and my interests/hobbies are always changing. I love food. Who doesn't? I love baseball; I've spent most of my 18 years here on Earth avidly following the Baltimore Orioles. I find science, math, and astrology fascinating. There are times where I have spent hours reading articles and watching videos about space and the universe. I can get lost in those articles and videos pretty easily.

Others things I find intriguing are things dealing with physics and energy. Here's a cool link to an article about fusion power: [1], William E. Perkins, Science Magazine, updated March 10 2006, accessed September 9 2012 (Grand Challenge)

Education

I went to kindergarten at some place near my house in Catonsville. Then I spent 1st - 12th grades at Gilman School in Baltimore, MD. Now I go to school at Duke University.

Pundit Demonstration

My favorite Pundit Demonstration was the Earth's Topography demo. It let me get a feel for how data can organized and how MATLAB can analyze and manipulate that data to create things like maps, tables, and figures. Seeing how the demo created the map of the Earth's surface from the data showed me how useful MATLAB will be for my education here at Duke. Not only will MATLAB help me in my studies, but also in my future career as an engineer.
